LX450 12v plug repair & JDM cup holder install
I know it's hard to believe but the FJ80 platform is sadly lacking the most critical feature in modern driving features.. which is a cup holder! There is a small place behind the drivers right elbow but it's such a horrible location and basically unusable. The JDM models came with a slide out single cup holder which is above the radio. It's not the most ideal location but thought it would complete the look and serve well for mall crawling. Will probably end up fabbing a better cup holder for the center console for off road use, but this will do for now!
Also, while the dash was apart I needed to repair the 12v cigarette plug. There is a fusible link on the back that will blow before the main bus fuse. This wasn't the case with mine, but it still wasn't working. So I took it apart and removed the washer between the two filaments, thus eliminating the need for the fusible link. After doing that it worked perfectly. It was sure a bear to get out though, they don't make it easy to get that plug out!
